Learning music is not just taking a class in school, it opens opportunities for students who can fly like an eagle in all areas of life! Yes, that is correct even a Philadelphia Eagles star football player was inspired by music.
Jason Kelce is a Philadelphia Eagle football icon who played in the super bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs. His story was brought to my attention during the last Superbowl when he and his brother played in the big game together. Jason Kelce may be one of the NFL's greatest players, but did you know he was also a talentedly gifted musician?
In high school, Jason played the baritone saxophone, which helped him become one of the best football players to excel in his career. Not only was he active on the field playing sports he was involved in playing concerts and attending jazz festivals in high school. Learning an instrument required him to stay focused and disciplined in being the best at whatever he could do. He knew that you can only make it to the top if you practiced and learned to stay focused, playing music was one of his passions for the prize. Since then, he has continued his musical talent by being involved with the Philadelphia Orchestra, recording albums, singing the National Anthem for a Sixers game, being a songwriter, and even teaching each himself how to play guitar.
This champion has shown us all that talent on the sports field and talent in music does not come easy. Anyone who has been an athlete and/ or musician knows what it takes to succeed, it takes talent, focus, discipline, and most of all passion. Learning an instrument and learning to play a sport all takes time, patience, and skills. When you have passion to learn you too can fly like an eagle at any age and any ability!
